The Inverness Community Association (ICA) is a non-profit, volunteer group, which develops and runs social, recreational and civic interests in the community. Since its founding in 1944, the Association has been dedicated to providing community events that help define the unique character and community spirit of the Village. In 1984 the Association deeded the land now known as North Park to start the Inverness Park District, and in 2007, the Inverness Summer Camp was transitioned from the ICA to the Inverness Park District in order to allow for additional growth and opportunities.
The events hosted by the Association include fun-filled Easter and Halloween parties, a Fall Concert in the Park, the Fourth of July Fun Run/Walk, Fourth of July Parade & Ice Cream Social, a Newcomers’ Meet and Greet, and two new events for grown-ups: the Fall Member’s Appreciation Cocktail Party and the Spring Wine-Tasting. Additionally, the ICA publishes the semi-annual Newsletter ‘Inverness Images’ and the well-known community Directory known as “The Red Book”, which is used by the Village, the Inverness Police Department, and Palatine Rural Fire Department.
The Inverness Community Association is led by a Board of Directors who hold two-year commitments. Elections are held annually in February. Membership is open to all Inverness Residents. Dues are $50 annually, $45 for seniors. Members are entitled to free or reduced admission to several Association events; priority participation in events, the semi-annual newsletter, and one copy of the Directory (additional copies are available for $15.00 – while supplies last)
The Association is only as strong as its membership, so we urge all residents to join and be part of this worthwhile, community-based group. We welcome you to attend all of the events or contact us if you want to lend a hand and volunteer. Residents interested in joining may contact us at info@InvernessCommunity.org, or Mindy at (847) 458-1062.
